Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students across PreK-12th grade as an itinerant School Social Worker on a full-time contract. In this dynamic role, you'll be traveling between school sites to provide both direct and indirect support, helping students access resources and thrive in their educational journey. Qualified candidates must bring current Michigan School Social Worker certification and a valid Michigan Social Worker license to the position. You'll collaborate as a valued member of the educational team, attending IEP meetings and developing plans tailored to individual student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver social work services to PreK-12 students, both directly and in collaboration with staff. Travel to multiple school buildings within the district as assigned. Participate in IEP meetings, making recommendations and supporting compliance with state/federal guidelines. Design and implement interventions for students experiencing barriers to learning. Consult and communicate with parents, teachers, and community agencies. Maintain comprehensive records and documentation as required.
Required Qualifications:
Michigan School Social Worker certification. Valid Michigan Social Worker license. Experience working with diverse student populations. Familiarity with special education procedures and best practices. Strong communication and case management skills. Ability to work well in an itinerant (traveling) capacity. This contract role offers compensation of $45/hr to $55/hr and may include access to healthcare benefits, as well as assistance with housing and daily meals/incidentals.
