Summary:
SSW Long Term Sub for the 2026-27 school year. The School Social Worker supports the academic and social-emotional success of students by providing services that strengthen the home-school-community partnership. They assess student needs, provide individual and group services, assist in crisis intervention, and collaborate with staff and families to remove barriers to learning and promote student well-being.
Qualifications/Description:
Master's of Social Work degree with School Social Work certification - Michigan School Social Worker certification. Support social-emotional-behavioral needs of all students. Proactive approach to behavior and mental health needs & wellbeing. Support the implementation of social-emotional learning curriculum. Maintain a caseload of students with accurate and timely records and documentation following Michigan special education guidelines. Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other professionals to coordinate services and support for students. Provide direct services to students, including individual and small groups. Develop and implement positive behavior support plans (PBSP) and interventions. Write, implement and monitor Plans of Care for general education students. Bill for mental health services (Medicaid eligible students) Participate in threat assessments. Contribute as an active member of the child study / student services team, crisis response team, and PBIS School Leadership team in the assigned building. Experience supporting programs for students with autism and cognitive impairments is preferred Demonstrate the ability to support inclusion for students with disabilities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district policies, including confidentiality and mandated reporting laws. Ukeru and/or CPI training is preferred. Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and/or Director of Student Services.
