Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed School Social Worker to join our team at Clara Bolen Elementary. This full-time position is essential in supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of our students. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and community resources to create a safe and supportive environment for all students. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering positive relationships and promoting mental health awareness within the school community. Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges. Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address students' academic and emotional needs. Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies. Develop and implement programs that promote mental health awareness and social skills development. Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress. Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for students. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and interventions. Provide training and resources to staff on mental health issues and effective strategies for supporting students. Advocate for students' rights and needs within the school system and the community. Requirements Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution. Valid state licensure as a School Social Worker or equivalent certification. Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or community setting is preferred. Strong understanding of child development, mental health issues, and social service resources. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in social work practice. Proficiency in using technology and software for documentation and communication purposes. Current CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
