Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Social Worker position focusing on an elementary caseload is currently available at a school location in Walled Lake, MI. This role involves providing essential social work services to support the academic, social, and emotional development of elementary students. The position is contract-based and requires onsite presence at this time.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments of students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with educators, families, and community resources Provide counseling and crisis intervention to students Advocate for student welfare and liaise with external service providers as needed Collaborate with teachers and school staff to foster a supportive learning environment Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school policies
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience working as a social worker within an elementary school setting Knowledge of child development and educational social work practices Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and staff effectively Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality Relevant licensure or certification as a social worker, as required
