Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a role where your expertise as a School Social Worker can make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students. This full-time, contract opportunity spans from September 8th through December and provides the chance to support a thriving school community near Warren, MI. As a School Social Worker in this leave replacement position, you'll play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and inclusive educational environment for young learners.
Key Qualifications:
Valid School Social Worker certification or licensure (as required for school settings) Prior experience working with elementary-age children in an educational setting strongly preferred Strong skills in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and behavioral management Ability to collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families Outstanding communication and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct support services and counseling to students, individually and in groups, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students experiencing academic or personal challenges Collaborate with educators and families to support student success and well-being Participate in meetings, such as IEPs or student support teams, contributing insights to provide holistic care Facilitate communication between school, home, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support
