REPORTS TO:
Director of the Robert Sosnick Family Life Center Temple Israel is a vibrant and welcoming Jewish community dedicated to fostering connection, learning, spiritual growth, and support for its congregants, families, students, and staff. The Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (IECMHC) serves as an embedded mental health professional within Temple Israel's Early Childhood Center, supporting the social-emotional development, mental wellness, and successful inclusion of young children. Working closely with educators, families, administrators, and community providers, this role provides consultation, classroom support, family engagement, training, and early intervention services using relationship-based, trauma-informed practices. The IECMHC helps foster a nurturing, inclusive, and emotionally healthy learning environment while promoting resilience and positive outcomes for children, families, and staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with educators, families, and administrators to support the social-emotional development and mental wellness of young children within the Early Childhood Center. Observe children in classroom settings and provide consultation to teachers on behavior, emotional regulation, relationships, and developmental needs. Support educators in implementing developmentally appropriate strategies that promote positive behavior and social-emotional growth. Collaborate with teaching staff to create nurturing, inclusive, and trauma-informed learning environments where all children can thrive. Build strong partnerships with families by providing guidance, education, and support related to child development and emotional well-being. Conduct screenings, make referrals, and coordinate services to help children and families access additional supports when needed. Provide crisis intervention and responsive support to children, families, and staff during challenging situations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health or human services field. Minimum of one year of experience providing assessment, intervention, or treatment services to infants, young children, and/or families with young children. Strong understanding of infant and early childhood development, attachment, trauma, and early relational health. Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

$55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
