Job Description

Position Overview Jewish Senior Life (JSL) communities flourish through deep, lasting connections. For decades, our dedicated staff and cherished residents have shaped a culture rooted in compassion, respect, and genuine care-making JSL not just a place to live or work, but a place to belong. At JSL you are part of a warm and inviting community that provides support services and quality living to older adults. Our residents enjoy a full range of social/cultural programs and activities while residing in our assisted living communities. The Dorothy and Peter Brown Jewish Community Adult Day Program is a dementia specific adult day program. We have an open opportunity for a compassionate social worker within our West Bloomfield center.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Complete in-home intake assessment for each program participant and maintains ongoing assessment of needs. Orient other staff to psychosocial needs of participants. With input from the program team, develops and updates care plan with participants and family. Conduct group activity sessions as determined by program needs. Conduct training in psychosocial needs of participants and their family members. Attend to daily care and safety requirements of participants as needed. Assist participants and care partners in finding services and resources as needed. Provide needed support, linkages, and follow-up for participants and family members in crisis. Assist in the marketing of Brown Center program and events Meet with families who express concerns regarding finances for program attendance and assist in determining appropriate support. Maintain charting, correspondence, weekly statistics, and agency reporting requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education/Licensure:
Bachelor's (BSW) or master's in social work (MSW) with licensure (LSW or LMSW)
Experience:
2-5 years of experience working with older adults, specifically those with memory, cognitive impairments, and their families
Preferred Background:
