Job Description

Job Overview A Supervised Visitation Monitor plays a crucial role in providing support, supervision, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals, particularly children and families. This position requires a compassionate and proactive individual who can effectively manage crises, facilitate communication, and promote positive behavioral outcomes.
Essential Functions:
  • Carry out the goals of the funding grant(s).
  • Facilitate, foster, and carry out the work and goals of AFFP and the Supervised Visitation Program.
  • Supervise family visits/exchanges following SVP policies and guidelines.
  • Identify family/client needs and refer to appropriate community resources.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Ability to express authority and clearly communicate expectations.
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
  • Understanding of child development needs and issues.
  • Assist in sanitizing and cleaning of SVP Center.
Documentation:
  • Document supervised visits/safe exchanges, formulate a report to referring agent, as needed.
  • Record Client information in individual files and all other necessary forms.
  • Document contacts with clients and referral agencies as they occur.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Respond to subpoenas and testify as requested.
  • Attend training or networking meetings, as requested by the executive director.
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings and board/staff workshops.
  • Practice self-care and assist in creating a work environment that encourages self-care for all staff.
  • Establish and maintain clear boundaries with clients.
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned job duties and changes within the agency.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate Degree in Human Service-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal history background check and drug screening.
  • Computer skills are necessary. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, other:
  • Understanding of domestic violence and violence prevention philosophies.
  • Sensitivity to and knowledge of issues related to victims and perpetrators of domestic violence.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and abide by ethical behavior,
  • Ability to relate to families and acceptance of the population served.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to use own judgement to coordinate the needs of the office.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, clients, supervisors, and members of the public, including the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Adobe, and other basic software.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Schedule:
Work hours are mostly within the following:
  • Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm
  • Occasional Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm
  • Opportunity to fill-in on weekdays (July-August)
