Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated
PCA/CFSS
(Personal Care Assistant / Community and Family Support Services) worker to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, children, and families, empowering them to achieve greater independence and well-being. Your energetic approach will help foster a positive environment where clients feel valued, respected, and supported. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, meal preparation, and mobility to promote independence and comfort. Implement motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavioral changes and support clients' goals. Respond effectively to crisis situations using crisis intervention strategies, ensuring safety and emotional stability for clients. Collaborate with families, social workers, child protective services, and other professionals to develop individualized care plans that meet each client's unique needs. Manage conflicts with patience and professionalism, employing conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations. Support children in educational and recreational activities while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. Document all interactions accurately in compliance with child welfare laws, family law regulations, and agency policies. Qualifications Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, children, or in social work is highly preferred. Knowledge of child protective services procedures and child welfare practices is a plus. Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and crisis management techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage clients effectively. Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism while maintaining a supportive attitude. Certification or training in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, conflict management or related fields is advantageous.
