Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic, supportive school environment for a contract opportunity providing essential social work services. This position is available as maternity leave coverage, beginning August 24th and extending through December 23rd. You'll work full-time, starting at 7:15 AM each day, with standard 8-hour shifts and a manageable caseload of approximately 50 students. This supportive setting is perfect for experienced school social workers seeking to make a positive impact during the upcoming academic term.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Hold a valid Social Worker license appropriate for school settings. Previous experience as a school social worker or related experience with K-12 student populations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, families, and staff. Ability to manage a diverse caseload and address a range of social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Knowledge of school resources, community partnerships, and strategies for student advocacy.
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to address student concerns, social-emotional growth, and crisis intervention. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to develop and monitor plans that support student success. Participate in student support meetings, IEPs, and other team planning initiatives as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all interventions and communications. Serve as a resource for school staff regarding classroom management and behavioral intervention strategies. Advocate for student well-being, connecting families to community resources when necessary.
