The Executive Director of Learning Environments provides strategic leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a coherent, districtwide system of supports that ensures all students are ready to learn and able to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This role leads the integration of key functions that shape student engagement, behavior, and well-being—including attendance, behavioral supports, mental health, physical health, family engagement, and community partnerships—into a unified and effective system. Working closely with the Superintendent and district leadership team, the Executive Director advances a comprehensive approach to student success that strengthens school climate, reduces barriers to learning, and promotes positive student outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
System Leadership for Student Engagement, Behavior, and Well-Being Designs, leads, and continuously improves a districtwide, integrated system of supports. Aligns services across attendance, behavior, mental health, physical health, and family support. Ensures consistent implementation across all schools. Uses data to monitor effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. Supervision of the Following Departments, Positions, and Functions American Indian Education Attendance and Truancy Behavior Support Systems and Strategies Chemical Health Programs Community Education Programs (including Adult Literacy) Community Partnerships and Volunteer Coordination Family Engagement and Family Supports Health Services Housing Stability Services Mental Health Services (including school psychologists) Social Work Services Student Resiliency Initiatives Youth Empowerment Programs 9th Grade On Track initiatives Family and Community Engagement Leads districtwide family engagement efforts. Builds partnerships with community organizations. Aligns engagement strategies with student support systems. Strategic Leadership and Collaboration Works with district and school leaders to align support systems. Leads cross-department coordination. Contributes to district strategic plan implementation. Leadership and Staff Supervision Supervises and evaluates staff within the portfolio. Builds leadership capacity. Ensures alignment and accountability across functions. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, public health, or related field. Lead principal experience. Significant leadership experience in K-12 or youth-serving organizations. Experience leading student support or engagement initiatives. Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a related field. Experience leading districtwide systems of support. Experience with community partnerships. Knowledge of culturally responsive practices. Commitment to Equity:
