Aug 15, 2026 Job Description The Palmyra R-1 School District is accepting applications for the position of Social Worker. The Social Worker will provide at-risk interventions to include but not limited to the following:

• Serve as parent liaison between the school and parent/guardian
• Serve as a consultant for teachers and staff when students are found at-risk
• Serve as an at-risk mentor to individual students when requested
• Serve as a referral agent for students needing more professional mental health services
• Serve as an at-risk team support member for students in crisis
• Maintain progress notes on students served This position works part-time, 3 days per week, for approximately 110 days, when school is in session, to provide support for both individual and group asset development.

The Social Worker reports student progress to the School Counselors or their designees on a weekly basis. The Social Worker also agrees to maintain certification as a Missouri substitute teacher and comply with required background checks.
