Job Description

Parent Aid Specialist (Full-Time) Help Strengthen Families. Change Lives. Make a Lasting Difference. As a Parent Aid Specialist, you will provide compassionate, family-centered support services that help parents develop healthy relationships, strengthen parenting skills, and create safe, stable environments for their children. Through mentorship, education, advocacy, and trauma-informed interventions, you will play a vital role in helping families achieve healing, growth, and permanency. What You'll Do Supervise parent-child visits in homes, community settings, and agency locations to ensure child safety and encourage healthy family interactions Model positive parenting techniques and age-appropriate child management strategies Provide parenting education and family support services Assess the emotional and social needs of families and develop individualized support strategies Assist families during crisis situations and provide guidance through challenging circumstances Connect families with community resources and concrete supports Collaborate with social workers, case managers, and other professionals to support family goals Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and interventions Promote family stability, child well-being, and long-term permanency outcomes What We're Looking For Successful candidates will demonstrate: Compassion and a genuine desire to serve children and families Strong relationship-building and communication skills Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Strong advocacy and problem-solving skills Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment A commitment to teamwork and positive outcomes for families Alignment with MBCH's Christian mission, values, and ministry focus Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred Minimum of two (2) years of related experience working with children and families Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Missouri Class E designation (or equivalent) Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends Ability to travel throughout Missouri as needed Successful completion of background screenings and required training Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn agency systems Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally About MBCH Children and Family Ministries MBCH Children and Family Ministries is a nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to serving children, youth, adults, and families throughout Missouri.
