Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Magnolia Freedom Behavioral IOP in Magnolia, Mississippi is seeking a therapist to join our growing team. Position Details:
Conduct group therapy sessions (up to 10 patients per group) 3 sessions per day, each lasting 1 hour Patient arrival at 8:30 AM Groups begin promptly at 9:00 AM This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a structured, expanding Intensive Outpatient Program focused on delivering high-quality behavioral health services in a collaborative environment. Position Summary The Geriatric Psych IOP Therapist is responsible for providing therapeutic services to patients enrolled in the Geriatric Intensive Outpatient Program. The Therapist conducts group, individual, and family therapy sessions, completes assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and ensures documentation complies with regulatory and facility standards. The role focuses on promoting the mental and emotional well-being of older adults through structured therapeutic interventions in an outpatient setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate evidence-based group therapy sessions for geriatric patients, addressing mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related behaviors, and adjustment disorders. Provide individual and family counseling as indicated in the treatment plan. Complete psychosocial assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary treatment team planning. Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the patient, family, and care team. Document all services provided in the electronic health record in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and payer requirements. Participate in daily or weekly treatment team meetings, providing updates on patient progress and recommendations. Coordinate care with internal staff (nursing, psychiatry, social services) and external providers (primary care, specialists, community agencies). Assist with discharge planning, referrals, and follow-up services as needed. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as appropriate. Support the program's quality improvement and compliance efforts. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of practice. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required. Current state licensure as LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent required. Experience in geriatric behavioral health preferred. Knowledge of age-specific issues, therapeutic modalities, and community resources for the elderly. Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Working Conditions Primarily outpatient clinical setting. May require flexible hours depending on program needs. Occasional lifting or assisting patients during crisis interventions may be necessary.
