Jul 29, 2026 Job Description Family and Community Engagement Coordinator Job Description The Family and Community Engagement Coordinator works to bridge the gap between home and school by helping parents get the information and support they need to ensure their child's academic and social success Reports to/Supervised by: Federal Programs Director
Job Goals:
To be a visible, reliable approachable resource for parents to encourage and maintain genuine relationships between the home and school of all West Bolivar Consolidated School District schools.
Job Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator may include but are not limited to the following: Serve as a liaison between the schools and the parents/families of the schools within the district Provide information to parents about the district's procedures, instructional programs, and the names and roles of administrators, and staff members Maintain an accurate log of parent contact time and activities that support the school's support plans Promote positive parenting throughout the schools by providing training opportunities for parents/guardians on strategies to promote student success Collaborate with classroom teachers, academic officers, parents, and building administrators to identify and implement specific workshops/events that show parents how to help their children with homework, standardized tests, reading, math, social studies, science, and other relative topics/subjects Promote family welfare efforts by establishing contacts with community organizations Serving as coordinator for transportation arrangements for parents who request this assistance Provide timely and relevant information to parents/guardians concerning school and district activities, operations, procedures to improve home/school communication Make personal contacts through a variety of modalities (electronic, face-to-face, home visits, etc.) to encourage parental engagement, as appropriate Research, collect, organize and coordinate resource materials and activities to facilitate parental involvement and engagement in their child's education, under the direction of the Academic Officers, building administrators, Federal Programs Director, Curriculum Director, and/or Superintendent Participate in school outreach activities, such as curriculum nights, special events, PTA meetings, etc. Maintain accurate records of activities, parent participation, and results of efforts Develop and execute programs and initiatives to enhance services and strengthen relationships between school and home Advocate for student/family needs Maintaining confidentiality in carrying out responsibilities Participating in the Community Engagement Council and/or school improvement efforts throughout the district Professional Development The Family and Community Engagement Coordinator is
REQUIRED
to attend monthly meetings. Each meeting will provide opportunities for: professional development; collaborative discussions I sharing of ideas; understanding administrative responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Must be the parent of a current student or former student in the West Bolivar Consolidated School District. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Holds a valid driver's license. Relates well to people of all ethnic groups Demonstrates strong organizational skills Is trustworthy and dependable
Terms of Employment:
As determined by the West Bolivar Consolidated School District, with wages and work year to be according to the current salary schedule.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the evaluation procedures for classified employees of the West Bolivar Consolidated School District.
