Part-Time School Social Worker

Title:

Part-Time School Social Worker.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and develop intervention plans. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create a supportive school environment. Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community agencies and resources Lead crisis intervention and conflict resolution efforts as needed. Deliver classroom presentations and workshops related to SEL , bullying and other pertinent topics. Manage and support implementation of school wide SEL curriculum and interventions. Maintain accurate, confidential records and prepare reports as required. Participate in MTSS team meetings and contribute to IEP/504 meetings as appropriate. Providing students with support in executive functioning or other skills that may be impacting academic performance. Help address and alleviate obstacles for regular school attendance. Serve as the liaison for reports to DSS for child abuse/neglect.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program. State licensure/certification as a School Social Worker (or eligibility). Experience working with middle school-aged children (grades 6-8) preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

Social Work Systems Theory and Strengths Perspective. Application of social work ethics in an educational environment. Ability to work independently. Individual and group counseling skills. Knowledge of child development through age 15.
