Full Time Durham County Council's Children's Services is seeking a compassionate and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our dynamic Families First Team in Easington. We are committed to providing early intervention and support to families facing challenges, aiming to prevent further difficulties and ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
Your Role:
As a member of the Families First Team, you will play a vital role in working with families in Easington to identify needs, address challenges, and promote positive change.
Your Responsibilities will include:
Direct Work with
Families:
Building strong and trusting relationships with families, conducting thorough assessments, and developing individualized support plans that address their unique needs and challenges.
Case Management:
Managing a caseload of families, ensuring their wellbeing and safety are prioritized, and coordinating services with other professionals and agencies.
Support and Advocacy:
Providing emotional support, guidance, and advocacy to families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their lives.
Multi-agency Collaboration:
Working effectively with other professionals, such as health services, schools, and community support organizations, to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
Intervention and Treatment:
Developing and implementing interventions and support plans, including parenting support, family therapy, and community-based services.
Promoting Positive Outcomes:
Encouraging families to develop coping mechanisms, build resilience, and work towards positive outcomes for themselves and their children.
Key Requirements:
Social Work Qualification:
You must be a qualified Social Worker.
Social Care England Registration:
Essential for this role.
Updated DBS:
Essential for working with vulnerable individuals. Experience in
Early Intervention:
Demonstrated experience working with families experiencing difficulties, with a strong understanding of early intervention principles and practices.
Excellent Assessment and Case Management Skills:
Proven ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, develop effective care plans, and manage complex cases effectively.
Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to build rapport, listen actively, and communicate effectively with individuals and families. Commitment to
