Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Discover a meaningful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students as a dedicated school-based social worker! This full-time role spans the entire 2026-2027 school year (August 6th - May 27th), offering the unique benefit of a four-day workweek while serving approximately 25 students across two school buildings. In this itinerant position, you'll be at the heart of supporting students' social-emotional growth and behavioral well-being by providing direct social work services and behavioral interventions. Your collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and participation in IEP meetings will be integral to each student's educational journey. Additionally, you'll partner regularly with school staff, families, and community providers to ensure the best ongoing support for every individual. Maintaining thorough documentation, managing cases efficiently, and upholding compliance standards are essential aspects of this rewarding role.
Key Qualifications:
Valid New Mexico PED certification as a School Social Worker Active New Mexico License as a Social Worker Experience working in a school or similar setting encouraged Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to supporting the social-emotional development of children and adolescents
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct social work services and behavioral support to a diverse caseload Support and enhance student social-emotional and behavioral development Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teamwork Maintain accurate records, manage cases, and ensure compliance Collaborate with staff, families, and external partners as needed This position offers compensation ranging from $40/hr to $45/hr.
