Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing essential social work and behavioral support within an educational setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for skilled School Social Workers eager to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and foster positive student outcomes. The position is full-time across four days per week for the 2026/2027 school year, from August 6th to May 27th, and serves approximately 25 students within two school buildings.
What We're Seeking:
Current New Mexico PED certification as a School Social Worker Valid New Mexico License as a Social Worker Experience delivering direct social work services in a school environment Strong skills in student social-emotional and behavioral support Knowledge of IEP processes and multidisciplinary collaboration Ability to maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and program partners
What You'll Do:
Provide direct social work and behavioral support to students on your caseload Support students' social-emotional growth and positive behavioral development Participate in IEP meetings and partner with multidisciplinary education professionals Maintain timely documentation and case management per school and regulatory guidelines Collaborate effectively with staff, families, and external providers to promote student success Travel between two school buildings as needed Compensation for this position ranges from $40/hr to $45/hr, with eligible candidates having access to healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
