Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in educational communities by providing essential social work and behavioral support services to students for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract opportunity (4 days/week) involves supporting approximately 25 students across two buildings, offering both direct social work interventions and behavioral guidance. The position is itinerant in nature and spans from August 6th through May 27th, 2027. As a valued school social worker, you'll play a key role in helping students thrive socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. Your expertise will directly support their overall well-being and academic success through ongoing collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families.
Key Qualifications:
Valid New Mexico PED certification as a School Social Worker Active New Mexico License as a Social Worker Experience delivering social-emotional and behavioral support in school settings Strong case management, compliance, and documentation skills Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, families, and external providers
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct social work services and behavioral interventions to students Foster students' social-emotional development and positive behavior Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary collaboration Manage caseload-specific documentation, case management, and compliance Communicate effectively with teachers, families, and related service providers Compensation for this role ranges from $40 to $45 per hour, with eligibility for healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
