Create environments where early elementary students can learn about who God is, how to be a storyteller of Gods goodness, partner with parents in their role as primary disciple makers, and equip volunteers to love, teach, and serve kids well. This role is part-time, 20 hours per week. Weekend Service attendance is required.OUTCOMES
Build a system that helps support kids with special needs for weekend services. Partner with parents & families with kids with special needs to help them feel welcome, seen, supported, and equipped. Recruit, train, onboard, and empower a team of volunteers to support kids with special needs - one on one and in consistently serving. Partner with the Early Childhood Coordinator to create and / or edit exciting, age-appropriate, Bible-focused curriculum that creates space for kids to appropriately discover more about God as well as teaches core biblical principles and truths. Manage, problem-solve, and connect with special needs volunteers in a way that helps everyone feel seen, loved, equipped, and valued. Adequately staff classrooms with volunteers so every kid with special needs has access to a developmentally appropriate small group, prioritizing consistency of the same volunteer with the same child. Prep all equipment, curriculum, and resources for weekend services in Special Needs environments. In partnership with the Kids Director, create quarterly trainings for special needs volunteers that is age-appropriate, equips, and empowers volunteers. Participate with the full Kids Team to execute a Kids Camp that creates space for kids to discover more about God, make friends that point them to Jesus, and learn more about Him Develop and maintain a comprehensive Special Needs Ministry handbook that equips volunteers and staff to confidently step into any role. Establish and implement clear safety, behavioral, and medical response protocols, ensuring all volunteers are trained and confident in executing them. Also, ensure parents are aware of these Canyon Ridge Special Needs protocols. Quarterly evaluate and improve Special Needs environments, systems, and curriculum based on feedback, observations, and team input. "MUST HAVE
"SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND LEADERSHIP CAPACITY
Pastoral heart with a growing and contagious relationship with Jesus. At least four years of experience facilitating and working with kids with special needs. At least two years of experience leading others. Understands the developmental needs of kids with special needs and peers. A team-minded person with a learner attitude, always willing to try new things. Experience training others and/or in volunteer management. Receive and provide feedback in helpful and loving ways. Ability to look at Children's environments from the perspective of the newcomer, regular attender, as well as a kid's perspective. Proactive. Sees what needs to be done and takes initiative. Energetic and understands the current trends in Children's Ministry. "MUST HAVE
