Non-Exempt Position Summary Recognizing that there is inherent trauma associated with the low/moderate-income and marginalized demographics that we serve, Buffalo Prep aims to hire a seasonal full-time Community Wellness Coordinator to assist in the implementation of social and emotional learning activities to support our scholar's mental, emotional, and physical health. Having an on-site coordinator is critical to addressing the growing need for racial trauma, mental, and emotional health support, as well as physical well-being. The Community Wellness Coordinator position is a key team member in the dynamic and successful organization, which reaches students throughout Western New York. They will work closely with the High School Prep teachers, the Program Manager, Teacher Assistants and Director of Community Wellness to help to facilitate a mentor relationship with scholars, run activities, and assist as needed. Essential Functions Assist the Director of Community Wellness with development of social and emotional learning activities based on best practices in trauma-informed care. Assist the High School Prep Program Manager with development and implementation of social and emotional learning activities. Assist the SEL Teacher with implementation of lessons. Establish positive relationships with all scholars. Facilitate activities during recess and free time. Assist with monitoring lunch periods. Facilitate advisory periods. Fully engage in all classes and activities. Provide workshops for all members of the Buffalo Prep community on wellness maintenance. Function as a triage for scholars. Stay current in knowledge of best practices in trauma-informed care and wellness education. Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week from June 29 to August 7, 2026. Adheres to all policies including Buffalo Prep's Stop Light Policy and mandated reporting as outlined by NYS Office of Children and Family Services. Additional duties as assigned by management. Education and Experience Qualified candidates will have earned a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree. Knowledgeable of best practices in trauma-informed care. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Commitment to Buffalo Prep's mission.
