Job Description

Content Specialist for After School Program -P.S. 183 Far Rockaway NY location Harriman After School Program is looking for dynamic, engaging Content Specialist for its Summer program. This is a part-time job that follows the school year schedule. The candidate would work Monday & Wednesday from 2:00pm- 6:00 pm with middle school children.
SUMMARY:
Content Creation Specialist/ Content Creation Specialist is responsible for supporting students in developing digital content skills in a creative, structured, and supervised after-school environment. This role focuses on guiding students in areas such as writing, graphic design, photography, video production, and social media content creation while fostering creativity, collaboration, and responsible digital citizenship They should have knowledge of after-school programs and the mandates of the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOH).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure the safety and engagement of children in assigned activities
  • Assist in all activities to ensure the orderly operation of the program
  • Complete 15 hours of professional development each calendar year
  • Demonstrate key competencies including initiative, teamwork, cooperation, preparedness.
  • Professional and reliable
  • Adhere to all Harriman After School Programs policies, practices, and procedures
  • Manage large groups of children (10-15)
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Competency in youth development and child care
  • Highly motivated and organized
  • Exceptional group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work as a part of a team within a school community
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively and respectfully with a broad range of diverse people
  • Enjoy working with children, positive attitude, ability to motivate and guide children/youth
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with middle school-aged children preferred
Drug Testing:
Staff members are subject to random drug testing throughout the school year.
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
