The Arc Westchester - 3.7 Hawthorne, NY Job Details Part-time $21.93 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Guardianship Advocate The Arc Westchester, the largest human services organization in Westchester County is looking for a Guardianship Advocate - Part Time. Job Summary The Guardianship Advocate plays a vital role in supporting and protecting the rights and well-being of children in guardianship situations. This position involves working closely with families, social services, and legal entities to ensure that the best interests of individuals with disabilities are prioritized. The ideal candidate will possess strong crisis management skills and have experience in IDD, social work, or related fields. Duties Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities under guardianship, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes. Collaborate with families, social workers, and legal representatives to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual children's needs. Conduct assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies for crisis intervention and conflict management. Provide support and guidance to families. Facilitate communication between various stakeholders involved in the guardianship process. Monitor the progress of guardianship cases and report on outcomes to relevant authorities. Stay informed about changes in legislation related to child welfare and guardianship policies. Experience Candidates should have a background that includes: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in various settings. Knowledge of guardianship services processes and family law principles. Proven skills in crisis management, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention techniques. A degree or relevant certification in social work, child welfare, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
