Job Description
The Berkeley Carroll School is a Pre-K through grade 12 college-preparatory school of approximately 1,000 students located in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn in New York City. Our vibrant learning environment draws students from all over the city. Admission to the school is competitive, and both our parents and students value achievement and community. The Berkeley Carroll School is seeking a full-time Math Interventionist to join our Middle/Upper School student support team for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting middle and upper school students (grades 5-12) in math at all levels (including but not limited to Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II/Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus).
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and small group math support to upper school students (grades 9-12). Provide small group math support for middle school students (grades 5-8). Assist with accommodations management and standardized test proctoring (ACT/SAT). Coordinate the MS/US peer tutoring program.Qualifications:
Advanced degree in special education, psychology, or a related field is preferred but not required Secondary (5-12) Mathematics education teaching experience Deep conceptual understanding of mathematics Deep enthusiasm for middle and upper school school students Commitment to reflective practice, ongoing professional growth, and continuous improvement Familiarity with the process of applying for standardized testing accommodations (ACT/SAT) is a plus, but training will be provided if needed Commitment to culturally responsive student support and must have a nuanced understanding of learner variability, neurodiversity, and executive functioning Strong organizational, collaboration, and teamwork skills Berkeley Carroll is committed to creating an environment that includes a diversity of perspectives and to cultivating an equitable, inclusive learning community in which everyone has the opportunity to experience a sense of belonging.
