MSW from an accredited School of social work, NYS School Social Worker Certification LMSW or LCSW Certification preferred

Job Responsibilities:

Complete the intake interview and guide the student and family through the process. Assess and/or provide individual and/or group counseling to students/families in need or make referrals as appropriate. Provide advocacy, information, services, support groups, educational workshops and training to families/guardians. Assist in obtaining concrete services, including but not limited to governmental entitlements, residential placement, and home health care. Provide translation services between CLC and the family/guardian for cases assigned. Promote the highest level of independent functioning for each student. Represent families at

CPSE/CSE

meetings upon request. Participate weekly interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure student needs are being met. Order supplies and maintain inventory. Escort students to the Emergency Room if necessary. Accompany families to other school programs to assess appropriateness for student, if CLC is deemed inappropriate. Participate in CLC/Agency committees. Supervise student interns, when available.

Physical Demands:

Transport students in their wheelchairs, school chairs, walkers, standers, etc. Aide in the transfer of students from various equipment (as needed). Join our Team and Make a Difference!
