Our Early Head Start program is currently in need of a passionate and dedicated Parent Educator/ Home Visitor to empower families through education, support, and advocacy. In this vital role, you will serve as a trusted resource for parents and caregivers, providing guidance on child development, family dynamics, and community resources for children 0-3 years of age. Your energetic approach will inspire positive parenting practices and strengthen family bonds. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on infants lives by promoting healthy, nurturing environments and supporting families through various challenges.

This person would be responsible for: Assisting parents in determining needs and resources and setting goals for their children, work with families to establish goals and objectives with respect to family differences and building on family strengths. Performing child and family assessments. Working with families in their homes in a family-centered, relationship-based approach, with an infant mental health perspective. Providing clients the knowledge of infant and early child development, principles of child health, safety and nutrition and family dynamics as necessary. Building strong relationships with families and using a strengths-based perspective to deliver resources. Maintain detailed records of interactions, assessments, and progress notes while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with agency policies. Qualifications High School Diploma along with a CDA (child development associate) credential OR comparable credential OR equivalent coursework as part of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. One (1+) years' experience working in Early Childhood Education (birth to age three); home-based and/or Head Start/Early Head Start experience. One (1+) years' experience working with at-risk families including diverse cultural backgrounds. Demonstrated understanding of children 0-3 yrs and families. Demonstrated experience using a strengths based perspective in delivering service a plus. Familiarity with behavioral health principles relevant to children and families. Excellent verbal and written skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and build relationships with high risk/need populations. Ability to build trusting relationships with diverse populations while maintaining professional boundaries. Must have an acceptable driving record (4 pts. or less), reliable transportation, and carry automobile insurance with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000.
