Job Description

Overview Under general supervision, CPS Caseworker is responsible for receiving and responding to cases involving suspected child abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, dependency, and families in need of services. Position requires frequent travel, works after hours on-call rotation, and provides emergency services according to agency requirements. The minimum qualifications are as follows: (1) A bachelor's degree in a human service-related study; (2) OR, A bachelor's degree in any field and have been employed for at least two years in a human services occupation; (3) OR, An associate degree in a human service-related study; (4) OR, Has been employed for at least five years in a human service-related occupation: (5) Valid drivers' license, state minimum vehicle insurance, and acceptable driving record; (6) Must pass Drug Screening and BCI/FBI Background Check.
NOTE:
For employment to continue, a person meeting Bullets 2, 3, or 4 above must obtain a job-related bachelor's degree not later than five years after the date employment with the agency commences. Bullet 1 is preferred. Transcript required for all post-secondary education. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized service plans based on client assessments. Provide crisis intervention and management services as needed. Collaborate with community resources and agencies to facilitate access to services. Work with families involved in child protective services, ensuring the safety and well-being of children. Document case progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with agency policies. Skills Strong crisis intervention skills, capable of managing high-stress situations effectively. Excellent conflict management abilities to resolve disputes amicably. Knowledge of child protective services processes and child welfare standards. Experience working with children in various capacities.
