About Us The LeFlore County Child Advocacy Network (LCCAN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and accredited member of the National Children's Alliance. LCCAN provides coordinated, trauma-informed support to child victims of abuse and neglect and their non-offending family members. Through a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach, we partner with local agencies and care providers to ensure a comprehensive community response. Position Summary The Victim Support Advocate serves as the primary case coordinator for the Child Advocacy Center (CAC). This position provides direct support, advocacy, and resource coordination to ensure each child and family receives consistent, comprehensive services. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Advocate assists with CAC and MDT case management, family support, and community outreach. Primary Responsibilities Direct Service & Family Support Provide crisis, risk, safety planning, and intervention for children and caregivers. Assess individual needs and cultural considerations, and help ensure they are met. Participate in information sharing during pre- and post-forensic interview consultations. Educate families about the multidisciplinary response and available services. Provide information on victims' rights and assist with Crime Victims' Compensation applications. Connect families to trauma-focused mental health and specialized medical services. Assist with transportation coordination for interviews, court, therapy, and related appointments. Support children and families throughout the investigation and prosecution process. Provide case status updates, including court dates, dispositions, sentencing, and offender release notifications. Coordinate with the District 16 District Attorney's Office Victim Witness Coordinator. Case Coordination & MDT Support Enter and maintain accurate data in the case tracking system. Assist the MDT Coordinator and MDT Team Leader with case tracking. Participate in case review meetings to communicate family needs. Assist with preparation for monthly MDT meetings, trainings, and center activities. Attend monthly MDT and Board meetings as assigned. Help maintain facility readiness and supplies. Provide on-call advocacy support 24/7 as scheduled. Community Outreach & Professional Development Represent LCCAN in MDT and community activities. Conduct community education and outreach presentations. Participate in child abuse awareness initiatives. Serve on community panels or committees as appropriate. Maintain ongoing professional development through training, workshops, and conferences. Assist in delivering training to MDT partners. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or related field preferred (experience may substitute). Strong communication and rapport-building skills with children and adults. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Sound judgment, reliability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed care strongly preferred. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email). Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed). Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations. Additional Requirements Schedule based on MDT needs; flexibility required. Pre-employment background check required. Pre-employment drug screening may be required. Occasional out-of-town travel for training.
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
