Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic role supporting elementary students as a school social worker in the Scranton, PA area! This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through June 9, 2026, providing the chance to make a sustained, meaningful impact within K-4 emotional support programs. You'll play a key role in helping young learners overcome barriers, build resilience, and achieve their best both inside and outside the classroom. What we're seeking:
  • Licensed or certified Social Worker qualified to practice in schools (state credentials required)
  • Prior experience providing emotional or behavioral support to elementary school-aged children
  • Strong understanding of emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs typical of grades K-4
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other professionals
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and crisis intervention skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment Your contributions will include:
  • Providing direct social, emotional, and behavioral support services to K-4 students
  • Conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, and tracking student progress
  • Collaborating with teachers and staff to address classroom and individual student needs
  • Supporting families with resources, outreach, and guidance
  • Participating in student support team meetings and individualized education plan (IEP) processes
