TITLE:

Middle School Food Service Worker•Type A

REPORTS TO:

Director of Food Service

JOB GOALS

To expeditiously stock, set up, display and maintain the food service line. In addition, the food service Worker will prep, serve and close Intermediate School breakfasts and lunches daily. Most importantly, always serve the customer with kindness, courtesy and professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Prior food service experience within a school setting is preferred. Must have knowledge of food ingredients, recipe conversion and portion control. Ability to run a register with accuracy and efficiency. General knowledge and ability to utilize a computer and google suite. Excellent customer service skills required. Ability and passion to interact positively with children and other staff. Available for at least four and one half hours (4 hours) every school day. Must have reliable transportation to work. Must be able to lift up to and including 40 pounds. Must be able to perform repetitive work duties. Must be able to stand for the entire scheduled shift.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve lunch to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Wash dishes Sanitize Type A area. Set Type A line up for service according to the menu. Do counts of food or drinks if anything is added to Type A area. Help in the kitchen. Help to pan food for the next lunch day. Cook for the current day. Restock Type A area. Count trays and restock them Wipe out and stock the drink cooler Empty and clean sinks/sanitize. Put dish towels in washer and run for the next day. Help put freezer orders away . On Fridays drain and clean Type A wells. Document temps for Type A cooler and warmer. On Fridays wipe down Type A station, warmer, cooler and clean the glass. Help with whatever is needed and as assigned by the kitchen leader and/or Director of Food Service.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Approximately 4 hours per day (Monday-Friday 9:45 AM-1:45 PM) / 5 days a week during the school year. Rate is $14.09 per hour for the probationary period of 45 working days; followed by the regular rate of $17.61 per hour after successful completion of the probationary period

EVALUATION

The Food Service Director will evaluate performance of this job.
