Job Description:
The High School Commencement Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing all aspects of the high school graduation ceremony and awards night. This individual ensures a meaningful, well-coordinated, and dignified event that celebrates student achievement while maintaining alignment with district policies and expectations.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Experience working with school age students and coordinating and managing events.
Skills:
Strong managerial, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work with students of all ability levels.
Education:
Valid PA teaching certificate.
Essential Functions:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive timeline for all commencement-related activities.
Coordinate all logistical aspects of the graduation and awards ceremony including venue, seating, staging, and accessibility.
Serve as the primary liaison between administration, faculty, students, families, and external vendors.
Organize and oversee graduation rehearsals.
Communicate expectations, procedures, and roles to graduating seniors and participating staff.
Coordinate student speakers, performers, and award recognitions.
Arrange for caps, gowns, and other graduation materials in collaboration with vendors.
Coordinate sound, lighting, and audiovisual needs for the ceremony.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and contingency planning (e.g., weather plans if applicable).
Oversee ticketing procedures, if necessary.
Provide timely and clear communication to students, families, and staff regarding commencement details.
Collaborate with school and district offices to disseminate information via newsletters, website, and other platforms.
Work closely with the building administration, counseling office, main office staff, facilities/maintenance, and security personnel.
Coordinate with local officials, venue staff, and community partners as needed.
Oversee all aspects of the ceremony to ensure it runs smoothly and on schedule.
Troubleshoot issues in real time and adjust plans as needed.
Conduct a post-event review to identify successes and areas for improvement.
Maintain records and notes for future planning.
Has read and understands obligations as outlined in MNSD School Board Policies.
