Community Hub Coordinator Social Worker 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars 3427 North Main Avenue, Scranton, PA 18508 Full-time Johnson College 20 reviews Full-time Johnson College is currently seeking a full-time Community Hub Coordinator Social Worker. This position coordinates multiple community agencies and components of programs offered through the Community Hub Department and serves as the first point of contact for the campus community. The coordinator models outstanding customer service, resource connection, student advocacy of needs while using effective communication to provide accurate information and assistance to department, instructors, staff, and community members.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist students with inquiry and intake form students seeking assistance in Community Hub. Maintain and update department records. Provide accurate information on community-based supports to assist in referrals. Engage with Pennsylvania Department of Education's EmpowerU initiative. Advocate students basic needs and community resources to support students. Assist in program recruitment of the various special programs. Coordinate Community Hub events with college departments and community based organizations. Provide quality student service as demonstrated in patience, tact, courtesy, flexibility, and responsiveness to student needs. Oversee the Community Hub Food Pantry, ReFuel Station, ordering food, maintaining records, while adhere to federal and state regulations Provides support for clerical and administrative tasks related to department including department grant-funded programs. Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Sound counseling techniques with sensitivity and discretion to effectively advise students of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds in the resolution of problems. Ability to interpret, recommend and implement college policies, procedures, and regulations. Ability to manage multiple activities and/or projects. Ability to multi-task with demanding time frames, and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Microsoft Office skills Embrace college's mission, shared values, and institutional goals. Travel for programs and to College Campuses Nights and Weekends as required
EDUCATION
Associate's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling or other related fields.
EXPERIENCE
Experience working independently under general direction in a high volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment, exercising good judgement, creativity, and initiative in the performance of job responsibilities in high education. Experience in social work a plus. Experience working with co-curricular programs and teaching is strongly preferred. 1-2 years' experience in a higher education environment Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Valid driver's license
