Automatic Promotion After 6 Months Employees are automatically promoted to County Caseworker 2 after six months. Also, pay increases to approximately $45,600 annually after initial training completed. Comprehensive Professional Training New hires receive 2-3 months of structured training through the University of Pittsburgh's Child Welfare Training Program , one of the most respected training systems in the country for child welfare professionals. (Free masters degree!) What the Job Involves County Caseworkers play a critical role in protecting children and supporting families.Responsibilities include:
Investigating reports of suspected child abuse or neglect Conducting interviews with children, parents, schools, and other involved parties Performing home visits and safety assessments Coordinating services and support resources for families Monitoring the safety and well-being of children in care Preparing reports and presenting information in court proceedings Working collaboratively with schools, medical professionals, law enforcement, and community partners This is challenging, meaningful work that directly impacts the safety and future of children and families.
