E.A.R.) Parent Network is totally run by parents for parents who have kids (newborn to 21) with emotional and behavioral health concerns. We are parent-to-parent family support. Here is how we can help you. No parent should suffer alone and in silence when a child is struggling with his or her mental health. Parenting can be challenging under the best of circumstances. But when a child, teenager, or young adult struggle with emotional, mental or behavioral health problems, parenting can be overwhelming and isolating. We provide parents and caregivers who are concerned about their children's mental health with an opportunity to find and support each other in a confidential and safe space with no shame, blame or judgment. What does the Director do? The Director provides guidance and support to Program Staff and volunteer parents; responsible for working in partnership with G.E.A.R. staff, parent volunteers, DHHS staff and system of care partners in all aspects of developing, implementing, reporting and evaluating program service delivery. Including informing partners and staff of the impact of service delivery on families as well as advocating for promotion of inclusion of the family voice to ensure the System of Care at State and National levels is family driven, youth guided, and trauma informed. Creates and updates program training educational curriculum; and conducts program educational presentations. Oversight of data collection and compilation of statistics and reports, and for Continuous Quality Assurance (CQI activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred and/or a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience required . Must have the lived experience of a raising a child/youth with a mental health diagnosis who is currently or has in the past, received services from a child serving agency for behavioral health related concerns and has navigated Maine child serving systems of care on their behalf. PEARLS FPS
Advanced Supervisor certification and the National Family Peer Specialist Certification from the National Federation of Families Certification Commission as a Certified Family Peer Specialist as required within 2 years of date of employment.
