$22•$29 per hour (education and experience dependent)

Employee Assistance Program Bonuses & Referral Eligibility for free classes to become a Licensed Counselor or Recovery Coach Education days to use towards CEU's Free meals at select programs and when available Unmatched Leave Time (FT employees can earn up to 3 weeks in first year) About Us SEMCOA's (Southeast Massachusetts Council on Advocacy) mission is to advocate for and provide support to individuals, families, and communities in the areas of substance use, mental illness, domestic violence, homelessness, and parenting. SEMCOA operates four emergency assistance family shelters that provide supportive services to families and assist them with securing permanent housing. SEMCOA also provides residential recovery home treatment to individuals with substance use disorders, as well as transitional and permanent housing stability and support programs. Our portfolio also includes two graduate sober houses, the Family Preservation Program, as well as Greater Brockton and Greater Attleboro Taunton Healthy Families programs. Healthy Families Massachusetts (HFM) is a statewide, voluntary home-based family support and coaching program for first-time young parents funded by the Children's Trust. The program helps to create a stable and nurturing environment for the child, providing support during pregnancy and the child's first three years of life. "Home visitors" teach parents about infant care, promote nurturing and attachment, practice effective parenting skills, and ensure parents have a solid understanding of healthy child development. Group services are offered to promote social connectedness. The program also assists parents on achieving personal goals related to education, employment, and the health/wellness of the family. Home Visitor Requirements Must present as courteous and professional at all times Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion Ability to organize and prioritize a demanding work load while adhering to project timelines Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use Children's Trust's electronic participant record system and HPAO systems and applications Knowledge of infant, child and adolescent development, parent/child attachment, and maternal-infant health Knowledge of area community resources Must have the ability to work independently and with others in cooperative and collaborative manner Ability to understand and implement Trauma Informed Care Maintains appropriate boundaries and adheres to code of ethics Comply with federal and state regulations concerning confidentiality Understand and adhere to all applicable policies and procedures of HPAO Complete TB screening requirements Certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program CPR and First Aid Certification Reliable transportation, satisfactory driving record, and a valid Massachusetts Driver's License for a minimum of three years Satisfactory response to a

Home Visitor Duties & Responsibilities Successfully complete all Healthy Families Massachusetts required orientation and trainings Completion of ongoing training as appropriate for professional growth and skill development Practice and promote the mission of HFM and SEMCOA Provide consistent, strength-based home visits based on participant needs and service level match Complete all required assessments to ensure appropriate service delivery Assist in the development of the Family Service Plan and monitor goal progress and achievement Plan curriculum according to participant needs, goals, and identified interest Make community referrals when appropriate and maintain contact for follow up Maintain all written/electronic records according to HFM policies Assists in the development and facilitation of groups and social events for participants Actively attend and participate in supervision and staff meetings Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Function Manager/Coordinator/Supervisor Home Visitor Qualifications Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred High School Diploma or equivalent required Experience working with or providing services to children and families/participants Experience with and willingness to work with culturally diverse populations among program's target population Experience in home visiting, curriculum planning and/or group facilitation
