About Us Family Promise of Aiken County is dedicated to preventing and ending family homelessness right here in our community. We believe stable housing is the foundation for children and parents to thrive, and we partner with families to provide the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed. Our whole-person, trauma-informed approach is grounded in empowerment and built on three core principles: client choice, respect, and empowerment. Families are active participants in their success and are leading the way for the positive change that happens in their lives. About the Role Eviction Prevention is our most immediate, high-stakes work. Families who come to us through this program are in crisis, facing the immediate loss of their housing. The window to make a real difference is short, and the conversations that happen inside that window matter a great deal. A successful Family Coach will build trust quickly, be honest about what's possible, and walk families through a coaching process that puts the work back in their hands. What You'll Do
- Walk with families through every step of our program framework, providing individualized support, encouragement, and accountability, while helping families navigate challenges with dignity.
- Conduct structured coaching sessions that move families toward clear, documented next steps
- Identify unmet needs and resources to bridge the gap for families beyond their housing crisis.
- Empower families to thrive by offering guidance, resources, and consistent follow-up, while adhering to program guidelines.
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely case notes in our case management system after every contact, every session, and every outcome.
- Collaborate with community partners, landlords, and others as needed.
- Keep clear communication with families and staff as a high priority.
This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must live in Aiken County or an adjacent county, with availability for occasional in-person events and meetings. This is a part-time role for 20 hours per week. Daytime hours (mornings/afternoons) are required, with some flexibility in scheduling to include 1-2 evenings a week. All family interaction occurs virtually via phone/video calls. What We're Looking For
