Responsibilities Assess the needs of children and families through thorough interviews and home visits to develop tailored support plans. Provide crisis intervention during emergency situations, ensuring immediate safety and stabilization for children at risk. Coordinate with child protective services agencies, legal professionals, and community resources to facilitate child welfare cases. Advocate for children's rights and well-being by assisting families in understanding legal processes related to family law and custody arrangements. Manage conflict resolution between family members or caregivers, employing effective conflict management techniques to promote harmony. Deliver behavioral health support by implementing counseling strategies that address emotional or psychological issues affecting children or parents. Maintain detailed case documentation, progress reports, and compliance records in accordance with agency policies and legal requirements. Requirements Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred. Proven experience working with children in social work or related settings, including familiarity with child protective services protocols. Strong knowledge of child welfare practices, crisis management strategies, and behavioral health interventions. Excellent skills in crisis intervention, conflict management, and behavioral health support tailored to children's needs. Ability to navigate family law issues sensitively while advocating for the best interests of children involved. Exceptional communication skills for working effectively with children, families, legal professionals, and community partners. Valid license or certification as required by state law for social workers or mental health professionals.
