Apply Now Job Summary This is a full-time position working in the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program. The social worker in this program will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing intensive mental health care including evidenced based group therapy and individual and family interventions with youth ages 12-17. What Perks and Benefits Can You Look Forward to? 2:1 match on retirement savings Excellent medical, dental, and vision coverage starting on day one of employment Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays Financial support for continuing education and certifications Responsibilities• You will be responsible for: Participating in daily multidisciplinary team meetings Facilitating process- focused group therapy, evidence-based skills-based groups (DBT and CBT) and educational groups Conducting biopsychosocial assessments Providing daily caregiver support and psychoeducation Providing individual and family therapy Providing cross coverage on cases and group assignments as needed Case management and discharge planning for patients completing PHP Ability to complete safety and risk assessments and triage as appropriate Making referrals to and coordinating with community agencies Keeping up-to date records in Mi-Chart and providing statistical information required by the Social Work Department. Completing all other required departmental trainings. Required Qualifications• A Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council of Social Work Education A current license to practice social work in the State of Michigan (LMSW or LLMSW) Experience working in acute mental health care settings such as inpatient or partial psychiatry programs, psychiatric emergency services, hospital- based psychiatry services, or Community Mental Health Skilled in crisis management, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and lethal means restriction counseling Some experience of professional social work. This classification requires Primary Source Verification. Desired Qualifications• Experience working with pediatric populations. Experience facilitating evidenced based process- focused and didactic group therapy sessions Experience providing individual and family therapy within a short-term, crisis stabilization paradigm Knowledge of evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT) and familiarity with brief, structured interventions Knowledge of community resources and ability to advocate on behalf of patients and families Skilled in developing rapport and effectively communicating with a diverse patient population Efficient, accurate assessment of patient needs and effective case dispositions Effective organizational skills, flexibility, self-motivation, the ability to effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks in a dynamic medical clinic Independent, sound decision-making is necessary for success in this position Effective collaboration with a large multidisciplinary team Proficiency in keeping accurate and timely clinical records in the electronic medical record Modes of Work Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work Schedule This is full time, 40 hour/week position. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. Work Locations This position will work out of the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program located at 300 W. Michigan Avenue, Ypsilanti, MI Underfill Statement This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Advancement through the career ladder at the Expert or Clinical Scholar Level is required for placement in the MSW Senior Classification Union Affiliation This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment. Background Screening Under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.
