Description Student and Family Experience Manager Role Mission :
The Student and Family Experience Manager is a national role responsible for ensuring every new student and family who joins IDEA Public Schools experiences a seamless, welcoming, and connected transition into our community. This manager operates at scale designing systems, structures, and resources that reach all Texas regions while maintaining the relational responsiveness that drives new student persistence. This role sits within the Family Engagement Division under the leadership of the Director of Family Engagement. The primary campus-level line of support for this manager's work is the Regional Student and Family Services Manager, school counselor and/or enrollment coordinator, who serve as key implementation partners for onboarding, belonging, and persistence strategies at the campus level. As IDEA advances toward its 2035 strategic goals, this role owns the structures, coaching, and data practices that connect every new student and family to a sense of belonging from day one.Supervisory Responsibilities :
This role does not carry direct supervisory responsibility over campus staff. The Student and Family Experience Manager leads through influence and cross-functional partnership, providing direction and coaching to school counselors and enrollment coordinators at the campus level who serve as the primary implementation partners. The manager reports directly to the Director of Family Engagement.Location:
This is a full-time (remote) position for Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth). Candidate must reside in one of the mentioned regions.Travel Expectations:
Up to 30% travel required. This role involves regular travel across IDEA's Texas regions to support onboarding implementation, survey coordination, belonging programming, and coaching of campus and regional leaders. Travel is concentrated at the start of the school year (BOY), mid-year, and during survey administration windows. What You'll Do -Accountabilities Essential Duties:
Leads the creation and implementation of national new student onboarding, including resources, training, and tracking systems across all IDEA Texas regions, ensuring consistent fidelity at the campus and regional level. Designs and maintains continuous onboarding structures for mid-year enrollees, builds and manages dashboards accessible to campus, regional, and national leaders, and conducts annual resource audits aligned to IDEA's 2035 strategic goals. Coordinates and executes the Fall Student Survey and Spring Family and Student Surveys end-to-end, manages all logistics and communications, produces actionable data reports, and supports leaders in translating results into improved student and family experiences. Build structures, toolkits, and guidance for out-of-school and extracurricular programming designed to strengthen new student belonging and connection and connect programming participation data to new student persistence outcomes. Partners with Operations, SIS, and Academic teams to drive alignment around new student persistence, co-develop shared workflows and SOPs, and serve as the Family Engagement representative in cross-functional planning conversations. Provides responsive, data-informed coaching to campus, regional, and national leaders on new student persistence and overall family engagement, and designs and facilitates professional learning for school counselors and enrollment coordinators.Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors new student persistence data at the campus, regional, and national levels and surfaces early warning indicators to the Director of Family Engagement and relevant cross-functional partners. Supports the development and iteration of belonging-focused programming models that reflect responsive practices and align with IDEA's 2035 commitments. Contributes, creates and executes the annual Family Engagement planning process, including goal setting, calendar development, and resource allocation for the new student onboarding portfolio. Maintains up-to-date documentation of systems, processes, and SOPs for the national onboarding and belonging portfolio to ensure continuity and persistence proactive structures. Represents Family Engagement in relevant network-level meetings, workgroups, and planning sessions as assigned by the Director of Family Engagement. Performs other duties as assigned in support of IDEA's mission and the Family Engagement andIDEA 2035

Must be able to interpret data dashboards using tools such as Power BI, or equivalent platforms. Must demonstrate strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with competing deadlines. Must be able to design and facilitate professional learning experiences for adult audiences in both virtual and in-person settings. Must be able to communicate clearly and persuasively in writing and verbally to campus, regional, and executive-level audiences. Experience with student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool, Salesforce) preferred. Required Education and E xperience : Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of leadership experience in school, educational or business sectors. Familiarity with IDEA-specific systems including STREAM, PEIMS, Power BI, or SIS platforms Experience in a national or network-level role with cross-functional partnership responsibilities Preferred Education and E xperience: Master's degree in education, educational leadership, School Counseling, Social Work, or Organizational Leadership Knowledge of project management Experience working within a large, multi-site K-12 charter school networkPhysical Requirements:
Must be able to navigate stairs or use an elevator at campus and office locations. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated or standing) for extended periods during meetings, training facilitation, and computer-based work. Must be able to operate standard office equipment including a computer, keyboard, and phone throughout the workday. Must be able to travel by car or airplane to IDEA campus and regional locations across Texas as required by the role (up to 30% travel). Must be able to carry and transport materials (up to 25 lbs ) for training sessions, events, and site visits.What We Offer:
Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $68,800 and $79,900 , commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
