• Full-time Unified Champion Schools (UCS) Sports Coordinator Full-Time / Exempt The Unified Champion Schools (UCS) Sports Coordinator will work in a statewide capacity to provide unified sports opportunities for pre-K through college.

The Sports Coordinator will work closely with the Missouri State High School Athletic Association (MSHSAA) to ensure compliance with emerging and fully sanctioned unified sports. The UCS Sports Coordinator will ensure compliance with Special Olympics International General Rules and Special Olympics Missouri Policies (SOMO) and Procedures while consistently demonstrating SOMO Guiding Values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Serve as the primary staff liaison to MSHSAA
• Coordinate regional and state competitions, in conjunction with MSHSAA guidelines
• Be responsible for coordination of all unified sports models through UCS
• Be responsible for compliance with all MSHSAA unified sports guidelines
• Be responsible for SOMO College Unified Sports, with a focus on recruitment and support
• Assist with Young Athletes programming at the pre-K and elementary school-level
• Contribute content to monthly e-newsletter for UCS schools
• Contribute to monthly UCS grant reports including financials, reflections, and participation numbers
• Assist statewide Area Program Directors in planning and implementing local school-based competitions
• Assist all area programs in growing their school participation to include UCS initiatives
• Ensure all unified partners and athletes, day-of volunteers and Class A coaches / volunteers are properly registered for UCS events.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
