This position is responsible for providing full benefits/work incentive planning and support in obtaining employment or re-employment to each participant. Also, the CWIC is responsible for maintaining a participant caseload and supporting the participant and family unit as a whole through education, direct service, referral and a case management model. The CWIC in this position will provided information needed to make informed choices in ongoing employment needs and how benefits are affected by employment. The CWIC helps the beneficiary understand the realities of moving through the work continuum with an emphasis on eventually moving off SSI and SSDI toward work in the community, while supporting the beneficiary's personal choice.
Qualifications:
Currently certified as a CWIC or CPWIC preferred or ability to complete trainings required by Social Security and obtain certification within 6-9 months Bachelor's degree in non-profit, social services, mental health or related degree or 3 years of experience in case management, social services, mental health, non-profit or other disability fields Interest candidates must be able to pass federal back ground check Be committed to fully participating in extensive training related to the position Have SSI and SSDI knowledge Have a strong understanding of state benefits and community support Knowledge of American with Disabilities Act and previous work with the disabled community or people with barriers to employment preferred Bi-lingual/Spanish speaking highly desired
