BROAD RIVER ELEMENTARY
(High-Needs School)POSITION PURPOSE
P rovides the necessary professional skills to assist students, parents, teachers and communities in problem solving and conflict resolution in a safe and healthy manner.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Consults with school staff members and parents to identify at-risk students; conducts surveys to assess school and/or community needs. Develops short- and long-term intervention strategies consistent with curriculum, student need, strengths, diversity and life experience to maximize educational opportunities and abilities.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a concentration in social services. Current SC Social Worker license.EXPERIENCE
: Working knowledge of Social Work theory and practice Ability to conduct assessments and provide intervention options Ability to collaborate with mental health professionals, student support staff, parents, students and community groups Ability to facilitate training and workshops for small groupsPHYSICAL DEMANDS
