Job Description

Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school district in Marion, SC is seeking dedicated mental health professionals for the 26/27 school year. This full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity offers a 37.5-hour workweek and multiple openings across various grade levels, including Early Childhood, Elementary, and Middle School.
Openings Available:
2 positions in Early Childhood 4 positions in Elementary 2 positions in Middle School Qualified candidates may apply for roles as School Counselors, School Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, or Clinical Social Workers. Please note that associate-level professionals will not be considered for these roles. Applicants are encouraged to indicate their preferred grade level assignment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to support student mental health and well-being. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention plans. Identify and address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges impacting students. Maintain detailed records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with ethical standards. Facilitate crisis intervention and referrals to community resources when necessary. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to enhance student support systems.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid and current licensure as a School Counselor, Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Social Worker. Prior experience working within educational settings is highly preferred. Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and mental health issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse student populations. Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
