School Social Work Lead Hamilton County Department Of Education - 3.5 Chattanooga, TN Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Master's degree in social work School experience Social work Master's degree Full Job Description Job Description Overview The purpose of this position is to assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation process of comprehensive social work program. This position will collaborate with others to develop and lead professional learning opportunities for social workers across the district. This position is part of the leadership team that works collaboratively to support social workers across Hamilton County Schools and ensures alignment across schools in order to meet school improvement goals and address students' academic, behavior, and social emotional needs. Responsibilities Observes and provides coaching to school social workers in their identified learning communities. Assists Coordinator of School Social Work with professional development and training for school social workers. Assist with training of all new hires. Assist in ensuring the delivery of comprehensive school social work services, activities, programs, and interventions critical to the academic and social emotional development of all students and wrap around services for students and families. Assist with promoting community and parent involvement with schools to include the use of wraparound services. Assist with coordinating the integration of school-level practices to prevent bullying and harassment. Support and help implement student success planning and coach social workers in learning community on effective strategies pertaining to SSP. Support the implementation of the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). Assist with the development of a written, annual plan, which is data driven and includes measurable goals, which are appropriately scoped and sequenced, based on the needs of the school and students. Supports the district strategic plan including initiatives and programs to address student needs (McKinney-Vento programming, Trauma-Informed Practices, Restorative Practices, School Wide Positive Behavior, etc.) Assist with the administration of planning and implementing needs assessments to identify school, student, and family needs. Assist in establishing community partnerships for district Social Workers and SEL Case Managers. Participates in and helps lead the district wide crisis response team. Communicates through the proper channels to keep supervisor and other appropriate personnel informed of impending problems or events of unusual nature. Acts in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner at all times. Complies with applicable district, state, and federal codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures. Attends work and arrives to work on time. Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law and School Social Work Ethics as defined by NASW Attends and facilitates meetings as needed. Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Supports district strategic plan including initiatives and programs to address student needs (SEL, Restorative Practice, School Wide Positive Behavior, Olweus etc.) Attend trainings as needed to learn new procedures or increase ability in use of data, technology, and other district initiatives. Qualifications Knowledge/Education/Experience:
Master's degree in Social Work required. Active professional social work and social work licensure, required. Three years of experience as a school social worker, required. Experience working with a focus on social, emotional, and behavioral supports strongly preferred.

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff, a diverse student body and families, as well as a team of professionals within schools and the community Leadership experience Ability to plan and provide professional learning opportunities. Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with students, educators, parents, and community members.
Compensation:
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
