Job Description

Are you interested in being a key player in supporting child care professionals? The WAGE$ Education Counselor works as a case manager for the Child Care WAGE$ participants from an assigned service area by determining eligibility of new and active participants against the program requirements. The Education Counselor also stays in regular communication with stakeholders in their assigned community to share information about WAGE$ and encourage new and existing participants to maintain eligibility in the program .
Qualifications:
Must have Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in education, Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Sciences or related field. Two years of professional childcare related experience required. Dependable transportation, valid driver's license and insurance required. May require the need for flexible schedules including occasional evening and weekend work. Some statewide/regional and/or overnight travel may be required. Willing to work in a shared space. Physical examination including TB skin test or chest x-ray is required within 30 days of employment.

Under the direction of the Child Care WAGE$ Director, the WAGE$ Education Counselor will have the following responsibilities: Treat all client information in a confidential manner Support the work of all initiatives within the WAGE$ Program Recruit participants by phone and outreach/presentations. Manage a monthly caseload by maintaining regular communication and documentation Evaluate participant education documentation and pay documentation to determine program eligibility Determine salary supplement amount for participants as well as adjustments to their date of pay based on leave time and schedule changes Communicate with applicants, participants, and directors using a variety of tools o Education calls with participants o Mailings o Occasional travel for conferences o Online Chat or Video Conference Meetings o Informational sessions for participants/directors Process and organize documents for new applicants Provide details to caseload participants regarding education requirements to move to a higher level on the WAGE$ scale Collaborate with stakeholders in their assigned service area to promote WAGE$ in the early childhood education community Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
