Social Worker I- Palliative Care Hendrick Health - 3.6 Abilene, TX Job Details Full-time 13 hours ago Qualifications Terminal illness counseling Social Work License Maintaining patient confidentiality Writing skills Content editing Meeting scheduling Driver's License Bachelor's degree End-of-life care Quality improvement Working with families Computer skills Patient interaction Policy Development Hospice regulations Full Job Description Plans; organizes; and implements social work services for patients and families to address patient and family needs for palliative care patients and families. Provides professional psychosocial support for palliative care patients to maintain their comfort and quality of life. A Social Worker in end of life care must demonstrate: keen observation skills; high ethical standards; critical thinking skills; compassion; attention to detail; organizational skills; calm under pressure; patience; and compassionate communication skills.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Bachelors Degree Minimum Work Experience 1 year social work experience Required Licenses/Certifications Current Social Work License Current Drivers License Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities Ability to carry out obligations and duties of position Accountable for the regulatory requirements; function and duties of the Hospice Social Worker Deals effectively with community/consumers Demonstrated advocate of quality and cost effective care Understand the physical; psychosocial and spiritual concerns/problems of terminally ill patients and families Must be knowledgeable of quality assessment and performance improvement activities Compose applicable policies and procedures Audit; monitor; and retrieve data Coordinate meetings Proven written and editing skills Strong computer skills Requires ability to handle confidential information Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills Demonstrates interpersonal skills Designated Driver Yes
