Protective Services of Lubbock is a community-focused nonprofit dedicated to providing comprehensive services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence and trauma. We believe in offering support, advocacy, and resources to empower individuals on their path to healing and independence. As we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Coordinator of Counseling to lead and oversee our counseling services for women.
Position Overview:
The Coordinator of Counseling is responsible for overseeing the counseling program for women at Protective Services of Lubbock. This role involves direct supervision of counseling staff, coordination of therapy services, and development of counseling programs to meet the diverse needs of women impacted by domestic violence. The Coordinator will also collaborate with community partners, advocate for the needs of women, and ensure that all counseling services are trauma-informed, culturally competent, and effective.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of counselors providing direct services to women impacted by domestic violence and trauma. Develop, implement, and evaluate counseling programs designed to address the unique needs of women in crisis. Provide individual and group counseling to women, utilizing evidence-based, trauma-informed therapeutic techniques. Offer ongoing training and professional development for counseling staff. Collaborate with other agencies and community organizations to provide comprehensive care and advocacy. Ensure all counseling services are in compliance with agency policies, state, and federal regulations. Track and report client outcomes, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with confidentiality standards. Participate in community outreach and educational initiatives to raise awareness about domestic violence and available services. Advocate for the needs of women within the organization and in broader community settings. Client Issues on Call on a rotating basis.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Counseling such as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, domestic violence, and the challenges women face in abusive relationships. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and community partners. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining attention to detail. Commitment to social justice, empowerment, and advocacy for women.
