Job Description:
- Identifies and intervenes in cases of suspected abuse, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse of children and adolescents, domestic abuse for adults, and caretaker/institutional abuse for senior adults.
- Manages crisis situations, demonstrating the ability to quickly appraise the situation and select appropriate interventions.
- Documents direct service in the patient's medical record after each significant encounter.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of electronic medical records.
- Adheres to principles and requirements of AdventHealth.
- Participates in performance improvement projects and quality outcome activities.
- Communicates effectively and respectfully with patients, vendors, and all levels of staff and management.
- Interprets social, psychological, emotional, and family system problems and strengths to other members of the treatment team.
- Prioritizes clinical problems, revising as needed based on continuous evaluation and assessment of progress.
- Incorporates patient, physician, and customer needs and concerns into decision-making.
- Provides social work services to patients, family members, and significant others in areas such as psychological functioning, adaptation to illness, injury, disability, or life events, psychosocial assessment/evaluation, and facilitation services including referrals to community agencies, financial planning, and provision of information and resource knowledge.
