We are looking for a compassionate, organized, and motivated Legal Advocate/Family Law Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside attorneys and community partners to empower survivors, provide legal advocacy, and help clients build safer, stronger futures. What You'll Do As a Legal Advocate/Family Law Paralegal, you will: Provide compassionate support and advocacy to clients throughout the legal process. Draft legal documents, engagement letters, and client correspondence. Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and community agencies. Assist attorneys with mediation, hearings, discovery, and trial preparation. Manage court calendars and case deadlines. Coordinate service of process with process servers. Conduct follow-up meetings and maintain accurate client documentation. Develop client service plans and coordinate services with counselors, case managers, and other providers. Connect clients with community resources and provide referrals as needed. Assist clients with safety planning and educate them on their legal rights and options. Accompany clients to court, hospitals, or meetings with law enforcement when needed. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and comprehensive client services. Help develop legal education workshops and community legal clinics. Maintain accurate records, grant documentation, and timesheets. Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience in Family Law. Working knowledge of the Texas Family Code and Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Valid Texas driver's license and current auto liability insurance. Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
Preferred:
Certified Paralegal. Experience in nonprofit or victim advocacy. Knowledge of criminal law. Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or other trauma.
